The worst thing EVER!!!

Thursday afternoon I noticed an itchy spot on my left hand. Thinking nothing of it I went on and did my chores and played with Emma outside. By Thursday night the one spot had multiplied and spread to my right and had become severely itchy and red. When I woke up Friday morning both palms were covered and my fingers were so swollen as well as my feet. I had little blisters on both shins and my arms. I called the doctor and made an appointment right away. Being almost 8 weeks pregnant I didn't want to risk anything putting this pregnancy in danger. The doctor diagnosed me with "hand foot and mouth disease". It's a nasty virus that has no treatment and lasts 7-10 days. I was told to take benadryl and given a cream to apply in the morning and at night. The benadrly helps with the itching but the cream, I might as well put butter on my spots cuz it's worthless. I even have little spots all over my tongue and gums. I am miserable. Any information I have found on this condition is focused on children so there is little help there for me. I'm not sure if it is contagious so I have been trying to stay away from Emma because heaven knows I don't want her to get this awful gunk. I have heard from several neighbors that it is common in pregnant women, that doesn't mean we all want it, GEEZ! Until my sentence is up I am laid up on the couch popping those little pink benadryl's every 4 hours to keep the itchies away and sending Emma off to grandma's and neighbors. Wish me Luck!
