Emma

This is what a girl and her dog look like.

Yesterday Emma had her 3 year well child visit. She did pretty well. She showed the dr how well she can hop and opened her mouth big like a shark so he could look at her throat. He checked her ears and her reflexes. She was weighed, 32lbs and measured in height 36 inches. She is doing great and has grown 4 inches since last year. He told her she was a pretty princess and we told him about Katelyn. He will see her when she is closer to coming home. Then Emma's dr sent us down the hall to the shot room. When I told Emma she had to go see the dr, one of the first questions she asked me was if she was going to have to get shots. I am a bad mom because I lied telling her I didn't know but I knew there would be. We waited outside the shot room and probably drove everyone crazy with her giggling and playing. They called her name and we entered the dreaded gloomy room and I sat her on my lap and exposed her thigh so the nurse could give her the vaccinations. The nurse took out an alcohol prep and wiped her leg and Emma asked what it was for. The nurse told her it's for 2 pokes. So what does Emma do, she watches the nurse stick her with the needle and immediately starts to cry. It was worse for me than when she was a baby and had her first set, well almost. She was "rewarded" with a pink plastic bracelet and we were sent on our way. I had to carry Emma because she was so upset. On our way to the car she kept crying "I got shot". We called Colt and gave him a report and headed home. Emma is a sassy little girl and I am so thankful for her. I love my big girl!

Poor Emma! :) Shots are the worst. Love that she is just sitting right on top of Bear!
