Disney Dreams 2014
We're back! We had such a great week in Anaheim. We landed on Sunday and spent 5 fun filled days at Disneyland and California Adventure. Our first we went to Disneyland and I was surprised at how crowded it was for the "off season". We rode the Matterhorn first because Colt promised Emma he would pay her $10 if she rode it. She sis and was a bit nervous and said it wasn't her favorite. He also promised her $10 if she rode Space Mountain. She rode both and with the money he gave her she bought a pair of Mickey Ears. She had a great time and we rode the Buzz Lightyear ride, the Jungle Cruise Big Thunder Mountain and spent lots of time in Toontown letting the babies run and play on the great playground they had there. When it started to get dark we sent the babies back to the hotel with Grandma and Grandad. Colt Emma and I rode Star Tours and took some great pictures by the castle. It was good to spend time with her alone and not have to worry about angry babies.
Tuesday we got up and headed right for California Adventure and Cars Land. It was a good thing we were in a large group because otherwise there was no way I was going to stand in line for a fast pass for the race cars. We rode a few in bugs land and went to ride Maters Junk-yard Jamboree and it was Katie's favorite. She laughed and said "wee" the whole time. When the ride was over she said "wanna go some more", I loved it. It was the best sound. We rode the big roller coaster and I screamed so much my voice is still trying to recover. We Walked til our feet hurt and then went back to the hotel for a good nights rest.
Wednesday we decided to let everyone wake up when they wanted to instead of early. We waited in lines to see character after character even seeing Mulan and Flynn and Rapunzel. Emma loved every moment of it. We went back and forth between parks and let everyone play and so their own thing. We sampled churros, Dole whip floats, Mickey biengets and mint juleps from Cafe Orleans and I had the best corn dog ever from the cart on main street.
Thursday we spent most of the day at California Adventure and stayed for World of Color. It was so fun to sing along to the music and see the water show. I wasn't crazy about standing on my feet and trying to see over peoples heads but it was a fun experience. We loved sitting in Cars Land and watching the Cars and people. It was a great place to relax and have fun.
On Friday, our last day in the park, we rode as many rides as we could in Fantasyland. We got a stroller as wheelchair pass for Katie and it let us right on the rides through the exit so she wouldn't have to walk too far. If the ride was too busy we got a return pass for a later time. It was a good decision to get it after reading about it. I did some reading about the sensory guest past and if Katie's issues with lines and loud noises get worse we may get one for the next time we go. I am not planning to go for a while. I did say that last year but the opportunity presented itself and we had to go. We went with Colt's family and had such a great time. We got to spend time with Chase, Chantelle and Link before Chase begins his doctorate program in St Louis this August. Its fun to have a big group but also good to meet up later and chat about our favorite rides over breakfast.
It was overall a great week. Minimal fits from the babies, sunburn and blisters on our feet and tons of laundry to catch up on now. My favorite thing was seeing how my girls loved the rides and characters. We loved spending time laughing and singing with them. It was a much needed vacation and we were so glad to go but so glad to return home to our beds and Bear and Bella. Now we have to get ready for summer and for a new set of challenges for Katie.
