We went to see Darlene and James and their new baby, Hudson Lothar Russell. Emma just had to hold him cuz Grandma was. Poor baby girl. Emma is 7 months old and has all the typical teething symptoms: grumpy, chewing on everything and she is a drool monster. She hasn't been sleeping well at night, up 2 times at least and because of this she sleeps a lot during the day. I don't mind the naps during the day it gives me a chance to clean and do things around the house but at night I need my sleep. She has changed a lot in the last few weeks. When she is willing to sit by herself she sings and talks to her Care Bears and is fine but if I leave the room she gets upset with me. Last Saturday she was playing on the front room floor and I turned on cartoons. She loved it, she was laughing and smiling at the tv it was so cute. She has started doing really silly things like coughing if you look at her and cough. She will stick her tongue out at you and she will tilt her head to the side and grin at you from across the room till you look at her. She has also started clicking her tongue. I bet she'll be walking in no time, she hates to be on her tummy for too long so I don't know how she'll learn to crawl but I keep trying to encourage her. Overall it isn't too bad but I hate that I can't do much for her pain.
Colt has been working so hard with school and his job that he needed a break. Sadly we couldn't give him a vacation so we were saving up to get him a nice new truck. The beginning of September the stupid Mountaineer started to spazz on us. First the A/C then the radio then nothing at all would work. When we took it in to the mechanic they told us the electrical system was failing. it would've taken $3000 to fix the blasted thing so we immediately started looking at trucks. We were lucky enough to find one at Carmax that Colt loved so we looked at it Monday night and drove it home on Tuesday after praying that the junky Mountaineer would make it to the lot to trade in. The truck is great! A silver toned '07 Chevy Silverado, Colt looks good driving it and Emma likes to sit on his lap at the steering wheel while it is in the driveway.
Our most exciting decision this month is to look for a house. We have lived in our cute little Cottage for almost 2 years and with Emma's stuff taking over most of the house we are running out of room. We are looking at a few areas including Sandy and West Jordan where we can be close to either parents but we haven't seen much yet. I would prefer West Jordan because we can get a whole lot of newer house for the same price as an older home in Sandy that needs work. We'll keep everyone updated on our progress.
One last note, after seeing how Micci cut her hair I surprised Colt Monday night with my own hair cut short. It sits at my shoulders and the best part was it was free. Thanks MOM!
