The Crazy Life

I'm still here and alive in case you were wondering. Life these past 7 weeks has been so crazy and a pretty big adjustment. The toughest parts of the day are mornings when I have to feed everyone and they are all screaming for my attention. The day goes pretty smooth for the most part. Everyone is pretty happy and healthy.

After 6 weeks Carly came off oxygen and is doing good. I had a tough time with nursing her though. I took her for a weight check at 6 weeks and her body percentage went from 3% down to 2% even with giving her 2 bottles a day. Colt and I decided to switch her to formula. It is more expensive but when your body produces skim milk and not cream it's tough for a little body to gain weight. Since switching she is finally filling out and gaining. She has the sweetest personality. She has started to coo and grin at me, which I LOVE. She is sleeping pretty good and tolerates her big sisters pestering her all the time. I am so happy she's here and healthy. We blessed her on December 9th and I'll be danged if I was so busy playing hostess I didn't get one picture of her in her blessing dress. I will though because it is the same dress the other girls wore. She'll look just as pretty on a Tuesday night as she did that Sunday morning.

Miss Katie has started crawling! It is so funny to watch her little legs finally move how she wants them to. She is getting fast and I have a hard time keeping track of her sometimes. She loves that she can go and play with the big girl toys. She goes into the hallway and yells to hear her voice echo. She pulls all the dvd's off the shelf and hides behind the spare room door. Her vocabulary is improving and she has added go, hey you and thank you. She is more aware of her surroundings and is starting to point at things and say oh. She gets excited and laughs. My favorite new thing is when she hugs me and pats me on the back. She truly is a miracle and I am so proud of her.

Emmabug has proved to be a big challenge. She is so smart and funny. She is an old soul in a little girl. I admit I don't spend enough time playing and teaching her. It is tough when the babies need so much attention. Even when the babies are sleeping I am so tired I just want to be left alone. I guess the biggest problem I have is I don't know the best way to pay attention to her. She is acting out and being difficult but is so willing to help me with the babies. I feel guilty and frustrated and I pray she doesn't hate me before she's a teenager. Any suggestions are welcome.

Colt and I have been lucky enough to go out a couple times in the last few weeks. We have been to the movies and have left the girls with their grandma's both times. We saw the Hobbit on Saturday with our friends Tannar and Kira. The movie was okay, they did a lot of running and it was long. I remember why I didn't read the book in high school, ha! He continues to be a huge help to me when things get a little bit hectic. I am one lucky girl.

Colt's little brother Chase and his wife Chantelle had their baby boy on November 29th. He weighed in a healthy 7lbs 13oz. We got to see him a week after he was born and he is a cute little buddy. He looks just like his daddy and is a sweetheart. We  look forward to getting to spend some time with him during Christmas and I can't wait to hold him and kiss his dimples. I love being an aunt and I can't wait to spoil this guy. Uncle Colt already has Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers ready for playtime.

We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
