What a mess. I only wash the dishes I have to, there is constantly a pile of dirty clothes taunting me outside the laundry room or on the couch. We live in our pajamas and eat pop tarts and cheetos. Emma spends most of her day watching Netflix or playing dress up. Katie pulls movies off the shelf and throws toys all over the family room. Carly takes naps in her bouncy chair and cuddles with me on the couch. Colt is still working from home thankfully even when he can escape the mess and head to his office. I would love to send the girls to a babysitter for a few hours and tackle all that needs to be done but I'm afraid I'd just spend the time sleeping. Aside from all the things I am ignoring, life is good. We are all healthy and in good spirits.
Santa brought Emma a bike for Christmas and every day she asks me when the snow is going to melt so she can take her bike outside. She wants to get out and have adventures with Bear in the backyard and buy a trampoline or swingset. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can say go outside and play. I have so many things I want to do with the yard and the house this year. Thanks to Pinterest I have lots of ideas.
Katie has made great progress. She is getting more confident on her feet and has started pushing the barbie car around. She has learned a few new words like, NO and MINE. I'm not crazy about her saying no to me but is sure is cute. She has also started playing peek-a-boo and pretending to be sad. I laugh every time. My favorite is when she yells for Emma and calls Bear "good boy". I can't believe she'll be 2 next week!
Carly is getting more and more squishy every day. She has started cooing and sucking her fist and she smiles all the time. Katie is getting better at being soft with her and is even giving her kisses and loves. She is drinking 6 ounces at a time and sleeping all night. She is such a sweet baby, we couldn't love her more.
I love the look Katie and Emma are giving each other in this picture. They are so good to each other most of the time. They have their moments and I have to scold them but it is good to see that they love each other. I have learned a few things about myself the past few months. I might be unorganized and untidy at the time but that doesn't matter, my family is together and happy and that's all that matters. There will be time for an immaculately clean house when the girls are grown and in school. I know I'll miss the toy messes and noise from Emma singing her own little concerts. I'll miss playing patty cake with Katie and watching her discover new things. I already miss that Carly is out of her newborn clothes and is now wearing a size 3-6 months. No more tiny baby girls in the house. I get choked up just thinking about it.
