Birthday Girls

Miss Katelyn turned 2 on February 19th. I can hardly believe it has been that long. We had some family over to open presents and have cake and ice cream with us for both girls. It was so crazy loud and fun. We probably won't share b-days again its too chaotic. It looked like Santa had come to our house again there were so many toys and clothes all over the place. It was great. At her checkup she weighed 20 pounds and is 30 inches tall. Her growth chart looks so funny because it goes up so sharply. I guess that's expected when you begin your life at 1 pound.

She has come so far and has become her own little person. Her vocabulary is growing and she is beginning to pull herself to stand. Her therapist suggested we try teaching her how to go up the stairs so she would get more comfortable with her feet. I have only been up the stairs with her once as was her therapist and tonight she climbed the stairs all by herself. It scared me to death. I was just sitting on the couch and Emma said "mom Katie's going upstairs" I jumped up and ran to the stairs and began to sob. I was so overwhelmed with a mix of emotions. Mostly I was so happy and thankful. It seems I cry at every accomplishment she has. When your little baby grows up and is becoming independent its hard to grasp sometimes. She has always needed me, I suppose she always will, it makes me sad that her dependence on me is going to fade.

Oh my Emmabug. She is now 5. She got spoiled for her birthday with new clothes and a scooter that we can't wait to ride outside. Emma had her 5 year/Kindergarten check up and did well. She got her shots and screamed of course but she is 44 pounds and 42 inches tall. She is a shorty but her personality makes up for it. I am amazed by all she does. She is silly and talented and at times a bit jealous of the attention her little sisters get. I have been trying my best to stay off the computer during the day and play with the girls. It seems to help all of us get along better. I am not losing my patience as easily.

We are having silly dress up times and making homemade accessories. We watched Ninja Turtles in disguise and played pirates in style. What a silly funny girl.

Carly is 4 months old and getting more and more squishy. She is so fun and I love that I get to cuddle her.

Thanks to my awesome in-laws we are going on vacation next week. We will be taking the girls to see Mickey and friends for the first time as well as heading to San Diego for a visit to Sea World. I am so excited. I'm sure I will have lots to post when we return.
